Purpose For The Pain
General Idea/lesson learned:
Have you ever been mentally and emotionally exhausted. Like your head is in a foggy cloud and you feel like giving up? I can relate there too. We tend to question why we have to go through things like that. Trying to figure it out. Hoping to understand. Wanting to make sense of it all. But see, God doesn’t cause these painful things to happen. Whether we see our miracle here or not, that doesn’t change who God is. God is still good and can make something beautiful from your pain.
Why I wrote this song:
When my mom was pregnant with me, she became very sick. Doctors didn’t know what was wrong and the tests to figure it out was limited because she was pregnant. They couldn’t give her much medicine, so she had to live with this throughout several months of her pregnancy. During that time, she became mentally and physically exhausted and fell into a dark depression. So many family and friends were praying for her, yet she continued to struggle. Something that should have been “happy” was so dark for her. She had one person pray a specific prayer over our lives. She prayed for healing for my mom, and that I would be a “Joshua leader” in my generation for Jesus. Well, she made it to 8 months and Doctors said if she didn’t have me early that there was a chance we both weren’t going to make it. They needed to test her to see how to treat her sickness. So she did what was best and delivered me a month early. They initially thought it was a brain tumor, but it was shingles on the brain which had already paralyzed one of her cranial nerves. Till this day, she still has paralysis on one side of her face. Even though her healing came later after treatments. After over a year of appointments, she was able to heal enough to live her life normally.
God knew that this would turn around for good. And now here I am, healthy and able to live and lead in this ministry God has chosen and blessed me with. Today, I get to share my story and be the leader God intended me to be from the start. Today, my mom is healthy. I can say that everyday is a reminder to me, of how her scares tell of the fact she fought and won a battle against a dark fear and sickness because of her faith and Jesus. God made a purpose for all of it. What the enemy meant for harm, God turned it all around for good and the good is purposed for my life to be a blessing to others.
Prayer:
Hey God,
I don’t fully understand why I have been hurt. I don’t always understand the “why’s” but I know that you’re going to use this for a purpose. I know that good will come out of it eventually. Help me to trust that you will bring me through this pain and give me strength.
Interaction:
Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.
-1 Timothy 6:12
But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch theLord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!
-2 Cron 20:17
Think back on those early days when you first learned about Christ.[a]Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering.
-Heb 10: 32
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.
-Isaiah 40:31
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.
-2 Timothy 4:7
Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.
-1 Peter 4:13
1. Do you remember your greatest mental, physical or spiritual pain? How did you get through it?
2. What good purpose has God brought out of that pain?
-or what good thing is God doing now?
Behind The Song:
I hope you loved this devo! Be looking out for the next one on Friday 5/15!
Hey Brooke this was such an incredible story and I can definitely relate! Here the answers for your 2 questions above.
1. Yes I still remember my greatest mental and physical pain because I’m still going through it with my uncle having cancer and now going through the aftermath but also it was hard whenever my great grandma died and also my mother health has been hard and it was mentally though on me when I found my great grandpa who overdosed on pills and so I’ve been through some thought stuff.
2. Well everybody is getting better which is something that God has done in my life so I guess I just got to keep the faith!!! ❤️🙏🏻🙌🏻✝️
Thank…
